User Agreement

1. General provisions

This User Agreement governs the use of the Legends of City service (the “Service”). By using the Service, the User confirms that they have read this Agreement and accept its terms.

2. Subject of the agreement

The Service allows the User to take an interactive city quest using a mobile device.

During the quest, the User receives access to maps, illustrations, hints and other elements needed to follow the route.

The Service includes a free introductory part. The User may purchase the continuation of the quest before starting it or after completing the introductory part.

All Service materials are provided to the User for personal use, except for publications, reviews and other uses expressly permitted by section 6 of this Agreement.

3. Technical requirements

The Service requires:

  • a web browser that supports JavaScript, WebAssembly, WebGL and the camera access API (as of the publication date of this Agreement, the Service has been tested in current versions of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari and Chromium-based browsers for Android);
  • Internet access.

To use camera-related features, the User must grant the corresponding permission in the browser. If permission is denied, some Service features will be unavailable.

When using the camera, images are processed directly on the User's device using computer vision technologies and are not transmitted over the network.

The operation and performance of the Service may depend on the device model, operating system version, browser settings, available device memory and quality of the Internet connection.

4. Safety

Quests are completed in an urban environment.

The User is solely responsible for following traffic rules, legal requirements and rules for visiting sites, and must pay attention to the surroundings and their own safety.

Use of the Service must not distract the User in situations where this may create danger for the User or for others.

5. Payment and refunds

Before payment, the User may try part of the quest free of charge. This allows the User to check compatibility of the Service with their device and decide whether to purchase.

Payment is made using third-party payment services selected by the User. Payment data is processed by the relevant payment service in accordance with its own rules and privacy policy.

The Service Owner does not receive or store bank card details or other payment instrument details of the User.

After payment confirmation, all materials of the purchased quest are loaded onto the User device and the integrity of the loaded data is checked. If loading or verification is not completed successfully, the quest does not start and access is not considered provided. In this case, the User should contact support at info@legendsof.city.

After loading and successful integrity verification, the User receives access to the purchased quest for 48 hours or until the quest is completed, whichever occurs first.

By paying for the purchased quest, the User agrees to its immediate provision and confirms that they understand that, after receiving access to the quest, the right to withdraw from the contract may be lost in accordance with applicable law.

The limitation of the right of withdrawal does not affect the statutory rights of the User if the digital content is defective, does not match the description or cannot be used for reasons attributable to the Service.

In the event of technical failures related to payment processing or provision of access, the User may contact support at info@legendsof.city.

6. Intellectual property

All Service materials, including the plot, texts, illustrations, maps, software code and other objects, are intellectual property and are protected by law.

Some images used in the Service have been created and/or edited using artificial intelligence technologies.

The User may, without additional permission:

  • publish reviews of the Service;
  • publish screenshots, photographs, videos and other materials created by the User while using the Service on the Internet and other information resources, including where such publications generate income for the author.

Without written permission from the Service Owner, it is prohibited to:

  • distribute Service materials in such a way that, taken together, they effectively replace completing the quest;
  • use images, characters, illustrations, logos and other design elements to make goods, souvenirs, advertising materials or other commercial products;
  • use Service materials when providing paid tour, entertainment or other commercial services to third parties.

7. Limitation of liability

The Service Owner makes reasonable efforts to ensure operation of the Service, but does not guarantee that there will be no errors, uninterrupted operation or compatibility with all devices and browsers.

The Service Owner is not liable for:

  • inability to use the Service due to lack of Internet access, malfunction of the User equipment, software incompatibility or other circumstances beyond the control of the Service Owner;
  • failures in the operation of telecom operators, payment systems and other external services independent of the Service Owner, except where liability of the Service Owner is provided by law;
  • damage caused by the User failure to comply with safety requirements.

Nothing in this section limits any rights of the User that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Route accessibility

Quest routes pass through the historic urban environment. They may include uneven cobblestones, steep ascents and descents, stairs, narrow passages and other areas whose accessibility is limited by the characteristics of historic development.

Some route points may be difficult to access or inaccessible for users with reduced mobility, including wheelchair users. In some cases, assistance from an accompanying person may be required to complete the route.

The Service Owner does not control city streets, buildings or other objects located on the route, and cannot guarantee the absence of repair works, street closures or other temporary obstacles.

9. Changes to the agreement

The current version of the User Agreement is published on the Service website at https://legendsof.city/en/terms.

The version of the Agreement in force at the time of payment applies to the purchase and use of a purchased quest.
